Transforming the essence of Mexican Silver

The creative substance of Daniel Espinosa, the trendiest jewelry designer of Latin America, consists in breaking schemes through the work with the essence of silver.

His starting point is to combine bold, innovation and risk – the combination of the latest fashion trends with silver, the most representative element of Mexico – this young and creative Mexican has achieved to transform the paradigm and idea that jewelry is designed with precious or semiprecious stones.

Being silver the unifying mean of other materials he uses in each of his collections, he also combines a wide array of elements which he develops in the concept of evolution of design.

With Daniel Espinosa, one of the designers that clearly disrespects the rules, we have to understand that the creation of jewels can flourish from any material that can be combined with silver. By doing this, the colors can come from materials so diverse as recycled glass of TV screens of the 40´s and 50´s that he discovered in the Philippines, or from industrial use cork that at first glance it does not have anything to do with designing jewelry.
By all of this, his creativity has risen from an extravagant combination of two elements: the Latin tradition, in which adornment plays a primary role, and his European education, that has been enriched with studies of Art in Florence, fashion in Holland and International Marketing in New York.

One of the mayor examples in the avant garde designs of Daniel Espinosa are the people who have portrayed his jewelry, from the elegant to the bold. We can mention the Kings of Greece, Mrs. Martha Sahagún de Fox, Guadalupe Loaeza, Madonna, Hilary Duf, Susan Sarandon, who he admires profoundly, and Halle Berry, to mention a few examples.

Avant garde rebel

The fact of combining each one of the materials which come to his hands or having them in mind for future collections, consists in the search that maintains him designing is the new combination of materials and applications. Daniel Espinosa constantly exercises exploration to make certain that each of the collections has a strong relation with the latest in the textile fashion, tones, and silhouettes. With this formula he has placed himself as the most important Mexican jewelry designer of the world, with boutiques in America, Europe and Asia.

The child in a silver town

For Daniel Espinosa silver since his childhood has been a marvelous element that has complemented a great part of his life as a designer and business man. Daniel was born and grew up in the colorful town of Taxco, Guerrero; in this magical corner of México, known for the production and workmanship of silver. Where he not only discovered his vocation, but renews it, when inspiration reveals itself, sometimes from watching a Galliano parade or appreciating the great spectacle of the Guelaguetza in Oaxaca, or simply walking through the streets of Taxco, enjoying the silhouettes made of white marble combined with white stones.

Mexican silver has been his inspiration as a designer, giving silver a new turn to present it with a new and fresh look to the world in general. That has been always one of the most recognized icons of Mexico abroad. Daniel has been capable of achieving the title of Mexican ambassador of jewelry design in the world, since he has achieved in making silver the unifying element of any material.

The inspiration: avant garde rebelness

Daniel Espinosa states “Inspiration comes with mood, and every day moments are born where the creativity plays a role to help perceive the possible combination of some elements with others.” Two times a year, Daniel Espinosa shuts in with his staff for two or three weeks to create his collections, until they are fully finished, he does not leave the premises. It is in this way how a collection is born. The direction that each one has to take each one knows well in advance before starting the designing process, even before starting to work on the creation and design of each piece, everybody knows where they are headed, knowing that in each moment they have to make and create different details, combine new elements, just like at this time with gold plate which has never been included in any collection.
