Recommendations For
Care Of Jewelery |
-
Don't heap the
jewellery in a drawer. Some pieces can
scratch or damage others. It is better
to wrap each piece individually in a
cloth and store them separately.
-
Clean the jewelry with relative
frequency to maintain shine and beauty.
Don't use dental cream since it contains
an abrasive. All jewelry can be cleaned
safely if it is soaked for ten minutes
in hot or warm soapy water (do not use a
laundry detergent). You can scrub with a
soft brush to remove excess dirt.
-
Tarnished silver (blackened
or discoloured) is caused by various
elements, such as: oxygen, sulphur,
certain acids, salt water, and human
persperation which may come into contact
with the jewelry
-
After using your jewelry and before
storing it in their individual bags, it
is advisable to clean it. This way it
may avoid becoming tarnished. The next
time you use the jewelry it will be
clean because you have avoided many
adverse reactions to the metal.
-
It is recommended
to use the jewelry only to exhibit as an
attire accessory and not wear it during
physical exercise because perspiration
may cause severe tarnishing.
-
Avoid contact of
your jewelry with creams, perfumes or
sprays, since this may accelerate
tarnishing.
-
Take off accessories such as rings and
bracelets before washing your hands.
Avoid submerging the jewellery into salt
water (the sea), because the salt will
tarnish them, especially silver.
